1. Agreement to Terms

By installing, accessing, or using CheckinPigeon ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

CheckinPigeon is operated by an independent developer based in Bangladesh.

2. Description of Service

CheckinPigeon is a Slack application that provides async standup management and poll functionality for teams. We offer:

Free Tier

  • Up to 10 unique participants per month
  • 1 active standup maximum
  • 30-day history retention
  • Unlimited polls
  • No AI features

Pro Tier ($10/month USD base, billed monthly, plus usage-based participant charges — excluding applicable taxes)

  • 10 unique active participants included per billing month
  • $1.50/month for each additional unique active participant above 10
  • Unlimited active standups
  • Unlimited history retention
  • Unlimited polls
  • CSV export
  • Google Sheets sync
  • AI blocker detection
  • AI Summary
  • AI answers from standup history (beta)
  • Smart Reminder
  • Sentiment / Mood Tracking

Optional AI Features: Our Service includes optional AI-powered features, including AI Blocker Detection, Weekly AI Summary, AI answers from standup history, Smart Reminder, and Sentiment / Mood Tracking. These features may process standup responses and related metadata using third-party AI providers. AI requests are minimized and do not include direct Slack user IDs, Slack mentions, names, email addresses, or profile identifiers. When person attribution is needed, we may send opaque report-scoped cryptographic mention placeholders to the AI provider and replace them locally with Slack mentions after the AI response returns. AI answers from standup history are scoped by the requesting Slack user's standup access permissions. Some AI features may be offered in beta and may change as described in these Terms. Use of these features is subject to the additional terms and disclosures in our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You should not rely solely on such outputs for decision-making.

Customer Support: We use Crisp live chat on our website to provide real-time customer support. When enabled, the chat widget may load on our website, and Crisp may process support chat data as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Account Registration and Slack Integration

  • You must have a valid Slack workspace to use our Service
  • You authorize us to access your Slack workspace data as specified in our Privacy Policy
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Slack workspace
  • You must provide accurate information during registration

4. Payment Terms

Subscription Billing

  • Pro tier includes a $10/month USD base subscription fee, excluding applicable taxes
  • Pro includes 10 unique active participants per billing month
  • Additional unique active participants above 10 are billed at $1.50/month USD each, excluding applicable taxes
  • Pricing is subject to change with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
  • Current pricing is always displayed on our billing page before purchase
  • Applicable tax may be added at checkout based on your address/location
  • The base subscription fee is charged in advance at the start of each billing period. Usage-based participant charges are calculated from metered usage during the billing period and charged or invoiced through Polar according to the subscription cycle.
  • We use a third-party payment processor (Polar) to process payments

Unique participants are counted as distinct Slack users who submit at least one standup response or poll vote within a billing cycle. Standup and poll participation are counted together, so the same Slack user only counts once per billing cycle even if they participate multiple times or in both standups and polls.

You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or government charges associated with your subscription.

Free Tier

  • No payment required
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time
  • Free tier does not include any AI-powered standup features

Refund Policy (14-Day Money-Back Guarantee)

  • First-time Pro subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of their first Pro purchase.
  • This money-back guarantee is available only once per Slack workspace, organization, customer, billing email, or payment account, even if the subscription is canceled, the Slack app is reinstalled, the workspace is reconnected, or the customer record is deleted and recreated.
  • Refunds are not available for subscription renewals, repeated purchases, reactivations, abuse, excessive usage, or accounts that previously received a refund.
  • Cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund. If you cancel your subscription, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then.
  • After 14 days from the initial Pro purchase, charges are final and non-refundable except where required by law.
  • We reserve the right to deny refund requests that appear abusive, fraudulent, repetitive, or intended to obtain repeated free access to the Service.

How to request a refund

Email us at support@checkinpigeon.com with your workspace details. Refunds are processed manually via our payment provider (Polar).

Service Accuracy

We strive to keep the Service and related information accurate, but we do not guarantee that all information is error-free or up to date. We may update the Service at any time.

5. Cancellation and Termination

Your Rights

  • You may cancel your paid subscription at any time
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, regardless of which cancellation method is used. No automatic refunds are issued upon cancellation.
  • You retain full access to paid features until the billing period ends
  • You can downgrade to the Free tier (subject to Free tier limits)

Our Rights

  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • We may terminate the Service with 30 days notice
  • We may modify pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without permission

You agree not to submit sensitive personal data (such as health data, financial information, or highly confidential business information) unless necessary and permitted under applicable law.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (including Slack and our service providers). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by us
  • Your use of the Service does not grant you ownership rights
  • You retain ownership of all data you submit through the Service
  • You grant us a limited license to process your data to provide the Service

8. User Data and Content

  • You are responsible for all data you submit through the Service
  • You grant us permission to store and process your data as described in our Privacy Policy
  • We do not claim ownership of your data
  • You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@checkinpigeon.com

When you upload files in Slack as part of a standup response, we may download and store those files in our own secure cloud storage so they can be displayed reliably in your dashboard and reports. Stored standup attachments are access-controlled and are retained while the related standup exists, then deleted when the standup is deleted. If a workspace administrator requests Slack workspace data deletion, we will delete workspace data (including cached attachments) within 14 business days after verified request, subject to any legal, accounting, or billing retention requirements.

  • If the Slack app is uninstalled from your workspace, we will stop the Service for that workspace (for example, standups will be stopped and active polls cancelled) and we may cancel any active paid subscription at the end of the current billing period
  • Uninstalling the Slack app stops the Service for your workspace. Workspace administrators may request deletion of Slack workspace data as described in our Privacy Policy. Verified Slack workspace data deletion requests are completed within 14 business days unless retention is required for legal, accounting, or billing purposes.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts service
  • We will notify users of significant changes when possible

We reserve the right to apply reasonable usage limits or safeguards to prevent abuse, excessive usage, or system strain.

The Service is not intended for emergency or time-critical communications.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS
  • WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SLACK PLATFORM OUTAGES OR ISSUES

Beta Features: We may offer experimental or beta features that are subject to change, removal, or modification without notice. Beta features may have limited functionality and may change over time.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to our collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

  • We may modify these Terms at any time
  • We will notify users of material changes by posting updated Terms on our website. Where reasonably possible, we may also notify workspace administrators via email.
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms
  • If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription

14. Governing Law and Disputes

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EU USERS: Regardless of Bangladesh governing law, EU users retain any mandatory privacy and consumer protection rights available under applicable EU law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.

However, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer in your country of residence (including EU consumer protection laws and privacy rights).

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bangladesh, except where your local laws require disputes to be heard in your country.

You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action.
